Naturally occurring sugar that is found in all tissues of the body. It helps to bind water and so retain volume to our skin.
This is what gives us volume in our skin. There are two main causes for loss of volume to skin.
- Intrinsic: We are unable to control the speed at which this type of aging occurs. Hormonal changes, bony structure, fat pad metabolism.
- Extrinsic: These are more controllable factors which cause skin aging and so loss of volume from our skin and tissues. Some factors which can speed this process up are, excess sun exposure, smoking, excess alcohol ingestion.
Hyaluronic acid has been developed over the years which has improved efficacy, safety and longevity.
Duration of action.
Dermal Filler duration can vary with person to person.
With advancements in technology dermal Fillers will typically last for 9-12 months. Factors affecting duration can be lifestyle, sun exposure, smoking and alcohol. The result will be immediately after Filler is injected.
Common side effects of dermal Filler injection include; bruising, bleeding, redness, pain around the site of injection.
More serious complications depend on injection site – these may include necrosis, embolism, blindness, allergy.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty (Nose Job)

We advise our clients to refrain from wearing makeup for 24 hours, this reduces the risk of infection at the site of injection.
Ice can be applied to the area in event of bruising.
Refrain from; extreme temperatures (hot, i.e. sunbed, or cold) for 1 week, and alcohol and exercise for 24 hours, to reduce the risk of bruising.
